Doug Trout is Chief of the Hazard Evaluations and Technical Assistance Branch (HETAB) for NIOSH. He received a Masters degree in Industrial Hygiene from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health in 1985, a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1989, and has completed residencies and board certification in Internal Medicine and Occupational Medicine. He began at NIOSH 1992 in the CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Program, was a medical officer in HETAB for 13 years, and has been the Associate Director for Science and Deputy Director in the NIOSH Division of Surveillance, Hazard Evaluations and Field Studies for 12 years.
