Senior DOT Compliance Specialist , Papé Group

Dave Gaffney is the Senior DOT Compliance Specialist for the Papé Group of companies. Dave has been with the Papé Group, based out of the Corporate office since 2015. Dave is responsible for the oversight of company-wide Department of Transportation (DOT) legal compliance matters pertaining to the company fleet of almost 2,000 vehicles, facilities recordkeeping, Members operating company vehicles and more. Dave is also responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of the Fleet Education and Compliance Program to ensure proper Member DOT training, as well as compliance with federal, state and local governmental laws and regulations. Dave travels to many of the Papé store facilities, totaling over 100 locations throughout the West, to meet with and train employees in a direct, in-person method.Dave frequently speaks at transportation industry events to provide compliance and safety training. However, Dave particularly appreciates being able to share information pertaining to driver safety and avoiding collisions, specifically in trucks, by helping drivers make appropriate, sound, educated decisions on the road. According to Dave, “understanding potential driving conflicts, with drivers using their experience, training and good judgement to make sound, safe decisions while operating a heavy vehicle, can save lives on the highways and make sure everyone gets home safely to their loved ones.”
