Mark Catlin

Health and Safety Director, Service Employees International Union (SEIU)

As Health and Safety Director for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Mark assisted SEIU local unions in California in their four-year successful campaign for a Workplace Violence Prevention Standard for Healthcare. He also helped draft the 2016 multiunion petition to OSHA for a Federal workplace violence standard. In the early 1990s, Mark was the industrial hygienist at the University of Washington’s Harborview Occupational Medicine Clinic. He has a B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Akron in Ohio and has worked in occupational health and safety since 1981.
