Ryan Hill
Director, NIOSH, NIOSH Western States Division
Ryan Hill is the Director of the Western States Division (WSD) at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). In that role, he leads a diverse group of scientists who conduct research and prevention activities focused on high-risk industries and occupations in the Western U.S. He works out of WSD’s headquarters in Spokane, WA and is also responsible for NIOSH offices in Anchorage, AK and Denver, CO. Ryan also serves as the Manager of the NIOSH Oil and Gas Extraction Safety and Health Program, which conducts research and prevention activities to improve safety and health for workers in the U.S. oil and gas extraction industry. He also serves as the co-chair of the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Oil and Gas Extraction council, which is a partnership program to stimulate occupational safety and health research in the industry.
