Corporate Fleet Compliance Specialist, Pape Group

Dave Gaffney is the Senior DOT Compliance Specialist for the Papé Group of companies. Dave has been with the Papé Group since 2015 and is responsible for the oversight of company-wide Department of Transportation legal compliance matters pertaining to the company fleet of more than 2,000 vehicles, mostly trucks. Dave’s has worked in the motor carrier enforcement field for 20 years, both with the California Highway Patrol and State of Oregon, Motor Carrier Enforcement Division. In his 10 years with the state of Oregon, Dave was the Manager of enforcement operations in the Coast Valley District, managed the Enforcement Officer Academy and conducted transportation safety training to the industry in which he regulated. With the CHP, Dave spent Five years field enforcement work in addition to developing and implemented a grass-roots outreach educational program for the trucking industry. Dave particularly appreciates being able to share information pertaining to driver safety and avoiding collisions, specifically in trucks, by helping drivers make appropriate, sound, educated decisions on the road. According to Dave, “understanding potential driving conflicts while using experience, training and good judgement to make safe decisions can save lives on the highways.”
