David Stern
Manufacturing Operations Analyst, The Boeing Company
David Stern has lived his entire life in Washington, but loves to travel domestically and internationally, and has spent the last 25 years in safety. His 1st degree was in electronics, followed by a Bachelors of Science in Aeronautics, with a minor in Occupational Safety and Health, through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. For the 16 years prior to coming to Boeing, he did everything a non-audiologist could do in industrial hearing conservation. From Tech to Lead Tech to Operations Manager, including testing, training, noise surveys, training trainers, custom ear plugs, otoacoustic emissions, expert witness testimony, and everything else for a mobile operation with 6 trucks in the Pacific Northwest and 1 in Alaska. After the vast majority of his professional career was spent in hearing conservation, he came to work for Boeing as a Health Services Administrator and then as an Environmental Health & Safety Analyst. He believes once safety gets in your blood, it becomes a part of you. He hopes to be able to add to the cultural shift towards improved safety through elements like building relationships, fostering effective and fun training, hands-on safety projects, increasing awareness, and being a source of enthusiasm for leaving work in the same healthy condition you arrived in.
