David Velling

David Velling, M.D. is board certified in Anesthesiology (by the American Board of Anesthesiology), and in Pain Medicine (by the American Board of Pain Medicine). He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1990. In 1994 he graduated from anesthesiology residency at the L.A. County-University of Southern California Medical Center, where he served as the chief resident his final year. He served as the chief of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at a U.S. Air Force Hospital as an active-duty military officer. He performed his fellowship in Pain Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, where he also served for a period on the medical staff. He is the Founder and Medical Director of The Pain Center of Western Washington.Dr. Velling has distinguished himself as a leader in the field of Interventional Pain Medicine. He has been practicing in this specialty spanning 2 decades, and has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. He has served on the Medicare advisory committee in the northwest region as the advisor in interventional pain management. He is active in the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, The North American Neuromodulation Society, and the American Medical Association.
