Ingrid Zabel
Climate Change Education Manager, Paleontological Research Institute
Dr. Zabel is the Climate Change Education Manager at the Paleontological Research Institution in Ithaca, NY. She works on making climate change science accessible to the public via exhibits at the Museum of the Earth and the Cayuga Nature Center, teacher resources, and education programs for youth and adults. Dr. Zabel is one of the authors of The Teacher-Friendly Guide to Climate Change, a resource for teaching about climate change. She is also the curator of the New York Climate Change Science Clearinghouse, an online portal for climate change resources for New York State. Dr. Zabel’s research background includes condensed matter physics, geophysics, remote sensing, and radar systems. She worked on modeling and field studies of sea ice and the Greenland ice sheet while at the Byrd Polar Research Center at the Ohio State University, and on surveillance radar at MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
