Brenda Jacklitsch, PhD, MS is a research health scientist and serves as Coordinator for the NIOSH Small Business Assistance Program within the Division of Science Integration at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is interested in designing and evaluating educational products targeting employers and workers that may have limited resources and access to professional OSH assistance. She was the lead project officer for the NIOSH Criteria for a Recommended Standard: Occupational Exposure to Heat and Hot Environments and was involved in the redesign and update of the OSHA-NIOSH Heat Safety Tool app, which calculates the heat index and provides recommendations. In addition, she has developed a variety of educational materials related to outdoor worker hazards. Dr. Jacklitsch has a PhD in Health Education from the University of Cincinnati, and an MS in Epidemiology and a BS in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University.
