Jeff James

Division Administrator, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

Jeff James is the Division Administrator for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in Washington State.   As Division Administrator, Mr. James is responsible for providing leadership over FMCSA’s operations within Washington State and FMCSA jurisdiction in British Columbia, Canada.  His office consists of six compliance investigators, a team leader, a grant coordinator, and a support position.   He has been in the commercial vehicle safety business since 1996 when he was a CMV Enforcement Trooper with the Wisconsin State Patrol.  Jeff joined the FMCSA in 1999, and obtained his current position in 2010.
