Liz graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. As an undergrad and while in graduate school, she focused her efforts on research and became interested in Occupational Safety and Health. Her career started as an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager in a food manufacturing facility. Following her time in general industry Liz worked as a Safety and Health (S&H) Specialist for an EHS consulting company where she authored S&H programs and instructed S&H trainings for both the private sector and government agencies. She has spent the last three years working for the WA State Department of Labor & Industries (LNI) in the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). She started as a S&H Compliance Officer before moving into her current role in DOSH Consultation Operations as a S&H Specialist. Working in Operations has allowed her to pursue her favorite parts of S&H which include technical writing, education, promoting S&H campaigns, marketing consultation programs and managing the Safety Through Achieving Recognition (START) program.
